Hyderabad High Court seeks info on steps to pick Vice Chancellors

The bench was dealing with a plea by the Forum for Good Governance

Hyderabad: A division bench comprising acting Chief Justice Dilip B. Bhosale and Justice S.V. Bhatt of the Hyderabad High Court on Monday asked the TS government to inform it by Tuesday, steps being taken for the appointment of V-Cs to various universities in the state.

The bench was dealing with a plea by the Forum for Good Governance, a voluntary organisation represented by its secretary M. Padmanabha Reddy, alleging that the TS government had failed to appoint VCs to as many as 10 universities in the state.

He said there are no vice-chancellor for the Osmania, Kakatiya, Telangana, Mahatma Gandhi, JNTU, PS Telugu, BR Ambedkar Open, Palamuru, Satavahana and Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts universities.
