Central Crime Branch can investigate graft cases: MN Reddi

Reddi said that he learnt about the case being transferred to the CCB
Bengaluru: City Police Commissioner M.N. Reddi said that he was not contacted by anyone in connection with the Lokayukta Justice Y Bhaskar Rao handing over the corruption in Lokayukta to the Central Crime Branch.
Reddi told reporters here on Sunday that he learnt about the case being transferred to the CCB. “Joint Commissioner (Crime) M. Chandrashekhar will probe the case. However, no one has discussed the case with me. CCB has the provisions of investigating corruption cases under law and they will investigate,” Reddi said.
However just a few hours after his statement, Justice Rao announced that he has decided to request the state government to appoint any other independent agency to conduct enquiry into the case.
