Airports Authority of India to take time for issuing NOC

The NOC from AAI is taking two months for applicants, which is further delaying building permission

Hyderabad: The Airports Authority of India is contemplating a change in the time taken in sanctioning No Objection Certificate regarding height of buildings located in the air funnel area in the city.

The Secunderabad Cantonment Board ward members have recommended erasing ground level permission mandatory for Mahindra Hills area.

The NOC from AAI is taking two months for applicants, which is further delaying building permission.

Earlier the AAI had issued letters to list the areas falling under the funnel zone to change the NOC time taken.

In the Secunderabad Cantonment Area, there are 400 coloniesm, out of which, SCB does not insist on AAI permission for the ground floor in 396 colonies.

However, for the four lay outs that is Balamrai Society, Shantiniketan, Dhana Lakmi Society and Santhoshi Society layouts, the SCB has made it mandatory for AAI permission even for ground construction.

Rama Krishna, SCB Ward member said, “In the air funnel area, the metro water board has built a huge reservoir at Mahindra Hills. The area also has a Buddha temple and a government hospital. When such buildings of 15 meters in height exist at peak level, the ward members requested the board to make ‘no AAI sanction’ for ground construction.”

Mahindra Hills to Airport come under the funnel. In December, the AAI issued a letter to amend the norms with regard to time taken in issuing the NOC for private building construction.
