Bangladesh PM, US fugitive figure in Bengaluru’s electoral rolls

Mumbai: The Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina and a wanted fugitive from the United States are registered voters in Bengaluru.

As the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) polls draw closer, the rise in fake voter id cards are on the rise in Karnataka’s capital.

A voter Identity Card with the Bangladesh PM’s date of birth, husband's name and all other personal details have been detected by alert citizens.

Karnataka Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson S Prakash posted a picture of Sheikh Hasina's 'Voter Identity Card' on his Facebook page.

The post already received multiple shares on Facebook.

Prakash alleged that there are lakhs of such voter identity cards in Bengaluru alone and organized gangs are behind the creation of such bogus cards.

A major security lapse on the part of police and electoral officials have been exposed with the discovery of such bogus id cards.

To back his claims, the BJP leader also produced a voter identity card in the name of a fugitive Virginia Lo Yao, who is wanted in the United States of America (USA). The American authorities have even announced a reward of $ 50,000 on her head.

The BBMP polls are scheduled on July 28, 2015.
