Director Ram Gopal Varma is busy shooting his upcoming film Killing Veerappan. The story is not on the life of the notorious sandalwood smuggler, but how the police planned and executed the operation to kill the brigand.
RGV, who is particular that his actors’ looks match the character, has cast Sandeep Bharadwaj, a Delhi-based theatre artiste, to play Veerappan.
Sandeep has done his bit of research on Veerappan, including his behaviour, expressions, food habits, etc.
“Never in my career have I seen a more dedicated and methodical actor than Sandeep. It’s not an exaggeration to say that he has actually started thinking like Veerappan. The biggest compliment that a unit member gave Sandeep was by warning him that he could get killed because people might think Veerappan didn’t die and has come back again,” says RGV.
