After eight years, luxury whisky brand Chivas Regal, is introducing a new blend. The “Chivas Regal Extra” is a special selection of whiskies matured in Oloroso sherry casks together with rare, fine Chivas malts. The result is a blend with a fruity, sweet nose with notes of ripe pears, creamy toffee and a hint of ginger. The ripe pears continue on the palate, with sweet tropical flavours of melons and soft notes of vanilla and caramel, blending with spicy notes of cinnamon and hints of almond.
“This is our first new global expression since 2007,” explains Colin Scott, master blender at Chivas Regal. “We’ve created its rich and generous taste by using some of our rarest whiskies built on a rich foundation of malts matured in sherry casks.” The new blend will be available exclusively at the Mumbai Duty Free from June 2015 with other airports and domestic markets to follow from July 2015.
