Nellore girl bags gold in Asian Yoga at Bangkok

She bagged the gold medal when the games were held South Korea in 2014

Nellore: Even as entire nation celebrating Yoga Day with enthusiasm, Yekamba-ram Joshnavi of Nellore bagged a gold medal (under 17 years category) at 5th Asian Yoga Sports Championship held at Bangkok on Sunday. It is her second gold medal in Asian Yoga Championship competitions for this Class IX student of Narayana Olympiad School in Nellore.

She bagged the gold medal when the games were held South Korea in 2014. Daughter of a businessman Y. Venkatesw-arlu and a teacher Suja-tha, Joshnvai is a disciple of yoga exponent Mupp-irala Lakshmi Narasi-mha Sastry of Nellore. She was the recipient of four bronze medals in the 25th International Yoga Championship competitions held at Paris bet-ween October 11 and 19 in 2013. Incidentally Joshn-avi was the only one sel-ected from AP among 15 members in the country selected by the Indian Yoga Federation for the event. The young girl won the medals for her outstanding performance in Yoga Asanas, Artistic Yoga, Rhythmic Yoga and Acro Yoga. She bagged several medals in national and state level competitions also in the last few years. Joshnavi said that her guru made it a point to teach them Bhagavad Gita and Hanuman Cha-lisa and this had helped her to remain in asana for an extended period without stress.
