Actor Sai Kumar to be ambassador for Vijayawada police

Vijayawada: Senior actor Sai Kumar, who is known for his aggressive role in ‘Police Story’, will be the brand ambassador for the Vijayawada police.

His role in ‘Police Story’ won him accolades. The film was made in Kannada, Telugu, Tamil and Hindi. The film was a huge hit so much so that Sai Kumar’s role served to be an inspiration to many police personnel. Now, the Vijayawada police have decided to use the actor’s popularity in a cop’s role and chosen him as a brand ambassador.

The Vijayawada police will promote their initiatives through Sai Kumar. Commissioner of Police Mr A.B. Venkateswara Rao said Sai Kumar has agreed to be the brand ambassador for the city police department. He said the actor’s services would be used to promote smartphone applications to be launched by the department in the coming days, apart from other initiatives.

“We would also make short films with the actor to create awareness on various issues related to crime,” Mr Rao said.

The smartphone application developed by the city police, 4th Lion, has been drawn from the actor’s famous dialogue in ‘Police Story’. In the dialogue, the actor says: “Police is the fourth lion, which is not visible easily, in the national em-blem.”

The application has been so designed to make available all services of the city police online.
