India-Zimbabwe series in trouble: report

Issues with Ten Sports, visa problems may derail the tour

Mumbai: India’s upcoming tour to Zimbabwe is in jeopardy after it was emerged that Zimbabwe Cricket Board is facing trouble with the local broadcaster of the series.

According to a report in ‘The Indian Express’, the Zimbabwe cricket board let know the Board of Control for Cricket in India about their inability to resolve the issue with Ten Sports. The Indian cricket board has apparently given the Zimbabwe cricket board a few more days to find a solution about the same.

It is known that BCCI share an uneasy relationship with Ten Sports, owned by Essel Group; the same group which was behind the now-defunct Indian Cricket League. It was earlier reported that the Subhash Chandra-owned group is now planning to flaunt a rival cricket league.

The report also added that BCCI is facing difficulties to arrange visa on arrival for the Indian cricket team.

Zimbabwe is scheduled to host Team India for three ODIs and two T20s in July.
