Election Commission of India to issue slips with booth route map

Booth slips would be distributed to the voters from June 22

Chennai: In a first of its kind initiative, the Election Commission of India on Thursday announced that they would issue a booth slip with route map to give direction to the polling booth.Chief electoral officer Sandeep Saxena said that the booth slips would be distributed to the voters from June 22.

For the first time, we are going to print the route map to the polling booths in the backside of the booth slip,” he told reporters.Mr Saxena said that the commission has received 20 complaints under E-Netra (Election Novel Electronic Tracking and Rapid Action) System.

“We will upload the complaint as well as action taken on it in the election commission website,” he said.When asked about DMK's allegation that there was no mention of RK Nagar bypoll in the invite sent by the election commission for the recognised political party meeting on Wednesday, he said that by-election was mentioned in the invite.
