Online video false: TRS leader P Vijaya Reddy

The video was uploaded and shared by the TD official page

Hyderabad: A day after a video surfaced on social media showing the Telangana home minister ‘pushing’ TRS woman leader P. Vijaya Reddy at a public event, Ms Vijaya lodged a complaint at the Central Crime Station alleging that the video was forged and uploaded to defame her and the minister.

Ms Vijaya said that home minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy did not push her but was only calming her down while she was having an argument with BJP MLA Chintala Ramachandra Reddy. “The incident occurred on June 8 at Panjagutta during a title deed (patta) distribution event. It was our programme. The BJP MLA hijacked it and asked me to get down from the stage. When I objected the HM tried to pacify me,” she said.

Ms Vijaya alleged the administrators of the TD Facebook page and a regional TV channel deliberately uploaded the video on Youtube and shared links on social media to defame her and the home minister. She alleged that the TV channel and TD were trying to create a controversy after she protested at the TD office against N. Chandrababu Naidu a week ago.

CCS officials said they are verifying the complaint. However, no case has been booked so far.

The video showed the home minister, the BJP leader and Ms Vijaya Reddy attending an event in the city and in between an argument breaks out between Ms. Reddy and the BJP leader.

Meanwhile, the home minister intervened and was seen mildly pushing her chin twice. After that Ms. Vijaya Reddy broke down and left the dais.

The video was uploaded and shared by the TD official page with the caption "And this is how women are treated by TRS leaders!". They have also posted screen shots of Ms. Reddy crying. Around 4,100 people have shared the video.
