Producer Sudhakar Reddy is mulling a defamation case against Charmme

Hyderabad: Producer Sudhakar Reddy, actor Nithiin’s father, is furious with Charmme for her “unwelcome” comments on Puri Jagannadh and Nithiin’s film. Earlier this week, she had commented that the film was stopped due to financial issues. Though the actress had tweeted that her comment was a mistake, she had removed her Twitter apology later. Not satisfied with her apology, the producer has officially complained to the Telugu Film Producers Council (TFPC) about her comments.
“Yes, we have received a complaint from Sudhakar Reddy on Monday evening,” says Kodali Venkateswara Rao, TFPC’s secretary. He says that they haven’t taken up the issue yet, as they are busy with other commitments. “We will take up the issue soon,” says Rao.
On the other hand, the producer is also in discussions with his lawyers if a defamation case could be filed against Charmme. “He is producing Akhil Akkineni’s debut film, which is a high-budget one directed by V.V. Vinayak. Recently, he had also produced three consecutive hit films with his son Nithiin. He is a popular figure in the industry. His morale has been affected because of her comments. That’s why, he wanted to take some serious action against Charmme,” says a source.
Meanwhile, Puri has narrated the story to Varun Tej, who’s back after shooting a hectic schedule of his film Kanche abroad. “Varun has not yet decided about signing the film. He wants to check with his father Naga Babu and then give his nod to the project,” says a source.
