Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao against Governor control

Governor had invited KCR to discuss progress in cash-for-vote case - Sources

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has reportedly told Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan that the situation in Hyderabad did not warrant imposition of Section 8 of the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, empowering the Governor to take over control of law and order.

The CM’s meeting with the Governor on Monday assumed significance in the wake of the recent meeting of the Governor’s advisers with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and his demand for imposition of Section 8 of the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act and allegations of phone tapping of 120 odd TD leaders. The TRS government has denied the charge.

Sources said that the Governor had invited Mr Rao to discuss the progress in the cash-for-vote case and other important issues.
