Telugu Desam men mistake cop for YSRC activist, chase him

Agitating ruling party workers chased him and tried to assault him

Visakhapatnam: Tension prevailed for a while at Jagadamba Junction here on Wednesday when ruling Telugu Desam workers tried to chase a police constable in plain clothes mistaking to be an opposition YSRC party activist. TD workers in large numbers led by Vizag south MLA and party urban president Vasupalli Ganesh Kumar, staged a protest against YSRC chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s ongoing Samara Deeksha and also arrest of Telangana TD MLA A. Revanath Reddy.

The flexis of Jagan and Telanagana state Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao were garlanded with footwear. The MLA alleged that both Jagan and KCR conspired against Revanth Reddy and sent him to jail. Meanwhile, a police constable in plain clothes took away the flexis since the protest was being held without prior permission from police.

Suspecting him to be an YSR Congress worker, the agitating ruling party workers chased him and tried to assault him. They later retracted after knowing that he was a policeman.

After TD workers left the protest site, YSR Congress activists in good numbers reached Jagadamba Junction to protest TD workers act of rallying with Jagan’s flexi carrying sandals. They burnt Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s effigy.
