KOZHIKODE: CPM Kannur district secretary P. Jayarajan will appear before the CBI officials on Tuesday in connection with the murder of RSS leader E. Manoj of Kathirur.
Jayarajan told that he would be present at the CBI office in Thiruvananthapuram at 11 am. The CPM leader will be appearing following a summons from the probe agency.
The slain RSS leader, Manoj, was the main accused in the case of murder attempt on Jayarajan on August 29, 1999. It has been alleged that Manoj was murdered in retaliation for the attack on Jayarajan.
Though the crime branch probed the case initially, it was handed over to the CBI after the BJP state committee came in the open demanding it. Union home minister Rajnath Singh had visited the house of Manoj, who was the RSS district sharirik shikshan pramukh when he was killed last September.
