Sathyaraj to play Mahesh’s dad

Actor Sathyaraj seems to be the new daddy-cool for actors and actresses. He has played father to many heroines onscreen, from Nayanthara to Ileana D’ Cruz. Sathyaraj who has also played a father to Vijay in Thalaivaa, will now be seen as Mahesh Babu’s dad in his upcoming family drama Brahmotsavam.

We hear that since the makers have plans to produce the film in both Tamil and Telugu, they chose an actor who has appeal in both industries to play the role. Also, Sathyaraj has worked in Telugu films like Mirchi and Sankham earlier. Tipped as a family drama, the shooting of the film directed by Srikanth Addala, will commence from June. The movie is being planned for a 2016 Pongal release.
