Hyderabad: The Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation has allotted 5,800 acres to 279 units with an investment of Rs 36,000 crore and a potential to create 29,100 jobs. The Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastruc-ture Corporation has constructed three incubation centres for the IT sector at a cost of Rs 33 crore at Visakhapatnam, Kakinada and Tirupati. The corporation has also taken up the task of building infrastructure like roads, drains and other works at a cost of Rs 57 crore.
The Centre has sanctioned six major projects worth Rs 3,943 crore under various schemes with a total outlay of Rs 852 crore.
A MoU was signed with the Sumitomo Corporation for developing the food processing sector. The Sumitomo Corpor-ation would assist Andhra Pradesh by seeking foreign investments through its global network in order to enhance exports and product value. A MoU has also been signed with METI which includes launch of a working group consisting of the Embassy of Japan, New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organisation (NEDO), Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC), Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO) and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) for facilitating investment from Japan to Andhra Pradesh, in various fields such as urban development, infrastructure, manufacturing, agriculture, food processing and information technology. The development of Japanese industrial parks in Andhra Pradesh will also be supported by METI and governmental organisations.
