His last few films might have failed to create a ripple at the box office, but Emraan Hashmi seems to have the resilience of a star. The actor, who’s popularity with the masses is often compared to that of Salman Khan, says that he is unperturbed by the lean phase. “I’ve been reading about the negativity around Bombay Velvet and Ranbir Kapoor. I think people were waiting to lash out at him even before the release of the film. Apart from feeling sad about the entire trend of slamming actors, I feel having a negative attitude towards actors is considered fashionable and cool. Sustaining might be a tough task for actors, but we have also been a part of successful films. The industry conveniently forgets the hit films and quality cinema that actors have been associated with,” Emraan says.
In his upcoming film Hamari Adhuri Kahani, the actor has stepped out of his comfort zone. “Moving to another genre was intentional. I hope it works for me and makes my audience see me in a different light,” he says.
