Stop lying on prices: Ghulam Nabi Azad to Modi

He termed it as the joke of the century
Hyderabad: The Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha, Mr Ghulam Nabi Azad, on Friday said it would be better for the Prime Minister to stop telling lies to people that prices of essential commodities are on a downslide. He termed it as the joke of the century.
Addressing the media at Gandhi Bhavan on Friday here, the senior Congress leader asked the PM to list which commodities registered a decrease to prove his point. “Petroleum products are on the rise. Vegetables, food articles, urea everything is on the rise, I don’t know which particular product the Prime Minister was referring to in his address to the nation,” Mr Azad asked.
He also ridiculed the Prime Minister for calling his one year rule as scam and corruption free and pointed out that even the previous UPA regime was corruption free. Under Mr Modi’s governance several investigating agencies became headless.
“The Central Vigilance Commission, the Central Information Commission are functioning without the heads. So where is the probe on irregularities? Making all agencies headless and still calling it corruption free governance is only an eye-wash and intended to get cheap publicity,” Mr Azad said. He also criticised the way the Centre decides to file cases in Supreme Court against the popular government in Delhi headed by Mr Kejriwal to clip its wings which is not justified.
