Now IT minister K T Rama Rao faces donkey protest

K.T. Rama Rao was at the receiving end of the Osmania University students’ fury
Hyderabad: Information technology and panchayati raj minister K.T. Rama Rao was at the receiving end of the Osmania University students’ fury on Friday. The students rented a donkey, not to protest against the Telangana state Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, but to target his son.
On Friday evening, members of the Telangana Nirudyoga Vidyarthi JAC got a donkey on rent and they saddled up an effigy of Mr K.T. Rama Rao on the animal. They then paraded the donkey around the university to express their anger against the IT minister’s recent statement supporting the decision of the Chief Minister on the construction of houses for the weaker sections on 11 acres of land belonging to Osmania University.
After taking the donkey on a round, the students burned the effigy. Kalyan, the chairman of the TNVJAC, said, “This protest is to send out a message that we, the students, will not keep quiet against anyone who supports taking away of our University’s lands for any purpose other than for development of OU.”
Mr Kalyan said that after burning of the effigy, police had intervened and had taken away the donkey. The cops had also taken four students into preventive custody. The four were later released.
