Cricketer arrested at airport for carrying ammunition

West Indies cricketer Andre Fletcher was reportedly carrying 50 rounds of ammunition

Mumbai: West Indies wicketkeeper-batsman Andre Fletcher was arrested on Thursday at the Douglas Charles Airport for carrying 50 rounds of ammunition, as reported by the ‘Dominica News Online’.

The report added that Fletcher was in Dominica practicing with his team, the Windward Island Volcanoes.

It is learnt that Fletcher is held at the Calibishie Police Station and will appear in Wesley court on Friday.

Lockhard Sebastian, manager of the Volcanoes, promised to offer complete support to the 27-year-old cricketer, according to the report.
