Baahubali audio launch postponed

The Hindi promo launch, however, will be held on June 1 as scheduled

The audio release of the much-awaited Baahubali has been postponed, as the cops have not given permission for the huge number of fans that are expected to attend.

Director S.S. Rajamouli, actor Prabhas and producer Shobhu Yarlagadda held a media conference on Thursday morning and announced the postponement of the function. They added that they did not know when it could be held.

“We had planned a grand event on the evening of May 31, and everything was going according to plan. We had also planned a media briefing on May 30. Though we had submitted our plans regarding parking, seating capacity, barricades and other arrangements well in advance to the cops, they called us on Wednesday, and said they had reservations about the function. The number of fans expected was increasing and the cops were concerned as they did not want a repeat of untoward incidents that had taken place in earlier audio functions,” said Rajamouli.

“So we decided to postpone it. We are trying to find a solution and will announce the date later,” he added. The Hindi promo launch, however, will be held on June 1 as scheduled. Rajamouli added that Part 2 of Baahubali was almost 70 per cent complete. The film’s first part will be 2 hours 35 minutes long, he said.

An insider said that the organisers had informed the cops that they were expecting 40,000 fans for the audio function. But the police didn’t give permission and asked them to go ahead with 8,000 fans.
