Close shave for Pakistan President Mamnoon Hussain’s son in highway explosion

At least 3 were killed and another 15 injured in the explosion
Islamabad: At least 3 were killed and another 15 injured as result of an explosion targeting Pakistan President Mamnoon Hussain’s son, Suleman Hussain, outside a hotel at RCD Highway in the Hub city, police said.
According to the police, the blast on Monday was result of remote controlled explosives which were planted in a motorcycle. The injured were rushed to Karachi Hospital. Police said that the attack took place when President Mamnoon Hussain’s son’s convoy was passing by however, the President’s son Suleman Hussain escaped the attack.
“Among the wounded are 5 police personnel out of whom one is in critical condition,” police said. He said Suleman Hussain was returning from his farmhouse situated in Hub. The home minister of Sindh Suhail Anwar has condemned the incident and has directed to provide utmost care to those wounded. In Daska on Monday, the police opened fire on lawyers who demonstrated a protest against city station house officer resultantly two including Tehsil Bar President Rana Abbas were killed while 5 protesters were injured.
The Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif took notice of the incident and ordered investigations. Sharif has summoned a report from the regional police officer Gujranwala, an official said.
