Watch: Salman Khan's heartwarming message to the people of Mandi

The actor addressed the crowd at the wedding reception in Mandi

Mumbai: Bollywood superstar Salman Khan on Monday flew to Himachal Pradesh to be a part of his beloved sister Arpita and her husband Aayush Sharma’s wedding reception in Mandi.

The actor, who bent over backwards to give his youngest sister her ‘fairytale’ wedding back in November last year, was the guest of honour at this traditional feast that was organised by Aayush in his native place.

After a short visit to the Tarna Temple in Mandi on Monday, the young couple headed home to address their fans and followers who had gathered outside their home.

There the actor, who was dressed in a black blazer, addressed the fans with one of the sweetest messages we have ever heard. In his short speech, he spoke about his sister, the people of Himachal and about Being Human.

The large crowd began cheering and hooting as the actor approached the microphone, which is generally the kind of reaction the star, is used to by now. The dotting brother said, “She (Arpita) may not be yours, but I am yours,” that was enough to have the fans going beserk.

He was also quick to thank the people of Mandi for ‘accepting’ his sister as their own saying, “You have accepted my sister, Aayush has accepted my sister, there is no greater news than this.”

This wedding reception was delayed because the actor was tied up with prior working commitments, but his thoughtful speech made it all worth the wait. He went on to say, “Arpita is your sister, daughter and bahu.”

Salman, was in the news lately when reports claimed that the actor was to donate a sum of money to the victims of the Nepal earthquake. He however denied those reports, but on Monday, he promised to help the people of Himachal in whatever way he could.

He said, “Now that I have come here, I will definitely do something and then leave.”

Salman went on to say, “I am here with them (Arpita and Aayush) and with Being Human. And we (Being Human) will do what ever little we can to help.”

The actor then ended his speech by saying, “I love you all man!” That was enough to get a thunderous applause from the screaming fans.
