Mumbai: If you are fresh out of college and looking for a job, you now don’t need to waste travel time and money for just an interview. You can, on your android mobile phone download Amne Samne jobs or visit their web version and track the nearby recruiter, says Akhil Ahluwalia, 34, who launched this app in November 2014 to solve the pain points of recruitments, specially bulk hiring.
An MBA from the Welingkar Institute of Management, Akhil has 11 years of recruitment experience in bulk hiring through a firm he started called Gratitude India.
He proudly says that in six months, they already have over 10,000 candidates and over 900 recruiters, without any funding. Google Play Store which helps us know we have been doing a good job gave us a 4.6 Ranking.
Explaining the app, he says ‘We are not a job portal but a platform to connect the recruiters and candidates directly. This is our first differentiation point from the other job portals. Apart from that, the app allows the candidate to get a push notification whenever the recruiter followed by him is within 1km of his area so he can instantly connect with the recruiter and meet him at the nearby coffee shop.”
“Also, since it is a location based app, it helps to scan the recruiters in their vicinity and further unlike the others, this application makes it easier by providing not just the email address but also the recruiters or candidates contact number,” adds the entrepreneur. The app also allows both parties to simply block their profile if they don’t want others to see it.
Akhil says, “Till now, nobody has come up with any application or portal which tracks the candidates or helps them to choose the location, area, region or city they would wish to work. We have plans to expand to more locations across India with a lot happening in the digital mobile space vis-a-vis recruitment.”
Mr Ahluwalia said one of their main targets is to help a host of small businesses who want to hire say, just two tele callers or two salesmen. They face a lot of talent crunch as they cannot afford job portals that may cost them '1 lakh to access the data to hire just two employees. They can download our app and hire for free. We are even working aggressively to tap the pink collar sector like domestic workers, baby sitting/day care and the blue collar sector like construction, mechanics wage labour etc.
Asked about funding he says “We are open to the idea of being funded by Investors who will also mentor us in our Journey to make the entire recruitment process smarter and easier for the recruiter as well as the candidate. However, being a 10-year old profitable company we will continue to bootstrap our concept till we find the right fit of Investors.”
