Anees Bazmee’s sequel of the comedy film Welcome has been in the news for quite some time now. The film which has been titled Welcome Back was initially expected to release in December 2014 with Aamir Khan’s blockbuster, PK. That didn’t work out and the release date was pushed to the next year. The film was then expected to hit theatres with Anurag Kashyap’s Bombay Velvet on May 19, 2015, but once again failed to get its release.
The major reason for this we hear, is that the makers are yet to sign on a distribution partner.
According to reports, the film’s budget shot up exorbitantly due to which no corporate house is ready to step in. It is important that any studio which makes a huge investment, ensures that it recovers the amount. With no studio on board, the release of the film is in a fix and so is the producer, Firoz Nadiadwala.
The film stars John Abraham, Shruti Haasan, Nana Patekar, Anil Kapoor and Paresh Rawal.
