Man committed suicide by consuming pesticide after his wife filed a complaint
Hyderabad: An autorickshaw driver committed suicide by consuming pesticide after his wife filed a complaint with the police complaining of harassment. Depressed by his wife’s action the man ended life on Friday. The autorickshaw driver, Durga Vinod Kumar, 30, married Sowjanya three years ago and they were staying in Ramireddy Nagar of Ramanthapur. From the time of marriage, the couple had differences regarding various issues.
On May 17, the wife lodged a complaint with the Nallakunta police station. “We summoned Vinod and since it was a family issue we counselled him and let him free,” said Nallakunta police. Vinod went into depression and consumed pesticide. He died while being taken to hospital for treatment.
“Vinod was depressed by his wife’s complaint. Unable to come out of it he committed suicide,” Uppal sub inspector T. Kiran Kumar said.
“Due to his wife’s behaviour my son committed suicide,” said Vinod’s mother in her complaint filed with the police.
However, Vinod’s wife Sowjanya alleged that he had differences with his brothers and had earlier attempted suicide thrice. Last week also they had a heated argument which she tells pushed him almost to the edge. Police have booked a case for suspicious death.
