Pre-paid auto service starts in Andhra Pradesh

DGP J.V. Ramudu on Wednesday inaugurated two pre-paid auto services
Vijayawada: Director general of police J.V. Ramudu here on Wednesday inaugurated two pre-paid auto services, each at Vijayawada railway station and Pundit Nehru Bus Station.
While the existing pre-paid auto service centre at the railway station is renovated, a new service was started at the bus station for the benefit of visitors reaching Vijaya-wada and the capital region.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Ramudu said that in view of increasing flow of people to the capital region, there is need for improving safety for visitors, particularly women and pre-paid auto services by the city police would help them reach home safe. At the pre-paid centres, visitors who wish to travel to a place in city would be given a coupon and assigned an autorickshaw after collecting a fixed amount as per the fare chart. Commissioner of police A.B. Venkateswara Rao, DCPs G. Ashok Kumar and Kalidas were present.
