With only four nominations going to be filed tomorrow, the election would be unanimous

Hyderabad: The election to fill four MLC seats from MLAs quota in AP Legislative Council is going to be unanimous with the parties deciding to field candidates based on their numerical strength in the Assembly.

The TD and BJP decided to field one candidate each and the TD will separately field a candidate for the bypoll caused due to death of Congress veteran Paladugu Venkata Rao.

Main Opposition YSRC president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Wednesday named former MLA from Badvel in Kadapa district Mr D.C. Govinda Reddy who filed papers on Wednesday.

Earlier on the day, BJP has decided to field one of the party senior leader and prominent 'Kapu' leader from East Godavari District Mr Somu Veerraju. 'Mr Veerraju will be filing papers tomorrow' BJP AP State President and MP Kambhampati Haribabu told Deccan Chronicle.

The name of Veerraju getting MLC seat was first predicted by Deccan Chronicle. Mr Veerraju was instrumental in roping Film Star Pawan Kalyan into politics including his meeting
with Narendra Modi and campaigning for TD-BJP combine in last general elections across the state.

With only four nominations going to be filed tomorrow, the election would be unanimous. TD President and AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu held party politburo meeting on Wednesday and finalised the candidates.

Eventually Mr Naidu has also decided four other MLC candidates to be nominated by Governor. Naidu has decided to field former Minister from Nellore Mr Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy from MLA's quota and Party headquarters Manager Mr TD Janardhana Rao for the Bypoll seat.

Under Governor's nomination quota, Chief Minister has finalised the names of former Vijayawada Municipal Corporation Mayor Mrs Panchumarthi Anuradha (BC Weaver) Minority Cell convenor Mr Shariff, Jupudi Prabhakara Rao (Dalit leader), and party leader G. Srinivasulu Naidu from Chittoor Dt (Balija) Jupudi who was in YSR Congress party has switched sides to TDP recently and his earlier MLC term came to end on May 1.
