BS Limited to buy 4 firms for Rs 950 crore

Acquisition will be undertaken through a slump sale from the respective sellers

Hyderabad: BS Limited, the city-based builder of power transmission and distributions lines, on Wednesday decided to acquire four companies, which mainly deal in metals for nearly Rs 950 crore. The target companies are Agarwal Steels Structures, Durafast Autom-otive, NHS Metals, and Rajesh Sandhi Infras and Metals. The acquisitions, a statement by BS Limited said, will be undertaken through a slump sale from the respective sellers.

The acquisitions will “enable the company to become an end-to-end service provider in the power T&D sector with enhanced capability in tower infrastructure manufacturing and EPC in power and railways,” the statement added.

“The proposed acquisitions are expected to benefit the company through improvement in bidding strength, enhanced cost control, expansion into railway electrification under EPC, operational and financial synergies and strengthen the foothold of the company in the industry,” said chairman Rajesh Agarwal. The proposed transaction will improve BS’ bidding capability and help in the foray into railway electrification under EPC.
