Washing bras too often can put your breasts at risk

Experts have lifted the lid on how often women should wash their bras
London: As per a new study, women shouldn't wash their bras too often as over-laundering can put their breasts at risk. Good Housekeeping Institute's Lexie Sachs said that over-washing can damage the elasticity that is essential for providing the proper support, which is ultimately harmful to its wearer, the Daily Express.
She noted that one should have several bras to rotate through to avoid stressing elastic over time, but wearing the same bra two days in a row isn't an issue.
The textile expert suggested that unless the wearer is really sweaty, they should wait three or four wears, approximately 10 days depending on the woman, before washing.
Sachs added that taking it off at night should allow plenty of time for it to recover its shape and elasticity and if it can't do that in eight to 12 hours, waiting an extra day won't make a big difference. When it comes to putting your bra in the washing machine, Sachs advised always checking the label and selecting the most delicate cycle available, as well as using gentle detergents such as Woolite.
She also advised women to put their bra in a special mesh bag in order to avoid them twisting together and when the bra is clean, it should be laid out flat to dry, rather than being put in the tumble dryer. Experts say wearers should fold them in a similar way to shelves at lingerie stores so they don't become crushed or tangled balls.
