Yashoda Hospitals may replace GVK for 108 emergency services in Telangana

Yashoda Hospitals group is known to be the major healthcare provider in the state

Hyderabad: The Telangana state government is likely to axe GVK Group from offering 108 emergency services in the state. Telangana state employees working in GVK Group are demanding that the government run 108 on its own or offer it to another group belonging to Telangana.

There are rumours that the state is all set to hand over 108 services to Yashoda Hospitals group soon, which is known to be the major healthcare provider in Telangana.

It is widely believed that the hospital management enjoys a close rapport with Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao. Over 300 GVK employees are already on strike for the last two days affecting 108 services demanding withdrawal of suspension against Telangana employees.

The Telangana Joint Action Committee, headed by Prof. Kodandaram, has also extended full support to the Telangana employees in this issue. “The GVK management shows a lot of discrimination against Telangana employees working in 108,” he said.
