'Bombay Velvet' gets U/A certificate after toning down Ranbir-Anushka smooch

With a week away from release, Anurag had no option but to take it

Mumbai: Earlier this week the Centrol Board of Film Certification ( CBFC) refused to give Bombay Velvet U/A certificate because of abusive language and violence. Anurag Kashya who didn't accept this went to Revising Committee ( RC) who saw the film on Friday.

According to reports, Anurag Kashyap had his way by getting a U/A certificate which enables the film to reach out to a wider audience. However, he had to agree to delete 2 cuss words, 'son of a bitch', and 'haramzada'. Not just that, the long kissing scenes between Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma will also have to be edited out from the film.

The RC were of the opinion that the kissing scenes were too bold not suitable for audience below the age of 18. With a week away from release, Anurag Kashyap accepted the certification and agreed to chop out those scenes.

Bombay Velvet is one of the most awaited films this year with Ranbir Kapoor in a never seen before action avatar. Anushka Sharma who plays a performer is thrilled to see the reaction of the audience once the film releases. Karan Johar has already won loads of appreciation for his acting seen from the trailer. It releases on May 15 which takes you back in the 60's of Mumbai with spectacular work of VFX never-seen-before by the Indian audience.
