Strike gives students sleepless nights

Guntur/Vijayawada: The ongoing strike by APSRTC employees has created a lot of problems to the public. Aspirants of Eamcet and teacher eligibility test (TET) are worried and have appealed the state government to resolve the issue in the interest of the people in general and student community in particular.
As many as 19,878 students will appear for Eamcet 2015 in Guntur district on May 8 in which engineering exam would be held in 38 centres and medical/agriculture will be conducted in 16 exam centres. The candidates are told to reach their respective exam centre an hour before and have warned that aspirants will not be allowed in the examination hall even if they reach late by a minute and this is worrying the Eamcet aspirants.
Similarly 33,380 candidates are appearing for TETon May 9 in 152 centres in Guntur district. The TET would be held for three days on May 9, 10 and 11 under which TET would be held for secondary grade teachers on May 9, for language teachers on May 10 and for school assistants on May 11.
P. Srinivas and others who are appearing for Eamcet lamented that they were unable to concentrate on their studies for the last three days due to the APSRTC strike. They added that the government had given 43 percent fitment without any hesitation but reluctant to give the same to APSRTC this provoked the APSRTC employees to start the strike.
TET aspirant, Mohammad Yousuf and others said that they have prepared for the TET for the past one year but now the things have changed due to the APSRTC strike. They added that the government should conduct talks with the striking emp-loyees immediately and fulfill the demands of the RTC employees at the earliest to resolve the issue. The ongoing strike is a big worry to the TET aspirants and they are unable to concentrate on studies in the last few days. They appealed to the government to res-olve the strike and to restore APSRTC buses by May 7.
