Nara Lokesh gets rousing welcome from Telugu Desam fans in US

Car rally in California; 126 villages adopted by NRIs
Hyderabad: AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s son and Telugu Desam leader Nara Lokesh, was accorded a grand welcome by NRIs in California on Monday. On the first day of his visit to Los Angeles and San Francisco, NRIs came forward to adopt 126 villages under the Smart AP programme. Mr Lokesh tweeted that he was “feeling pumped up and confident”.
A car rally was taken out in California in support of the TD.
Mr Lokesh said, “I thank members from the NRI TD for according a tumultuous welcome upon my arrival in the US. My visit will be a shot in the arm for the wing that has been striving hard not just for Telugu Desam, but also for development of the two Telugu-speaking states — Telangana and AP. Without wasting a moment’s time, I will be attending a spate of meetings lined up for the day, including one on Smart Villages and Smart Wards. Feeling pumped up and confident.”
He added, “There was tremendous response from the NRIs at my first meeting here in LA — for the Smart Villages and Smart Wards programme — 126 villages adopted in one go.” Mr Lokesh will be visiting Chicago, New Jersey and Texas. San Francisco airport witnessed fans raising slogans in the TD and Mr Lokesh’s support.
