RHA T10i review: A well-crafted pair of headphones

RHA T10i is a good investment for both audiophiles and casual music listeners

For most of us, the answer to everything, be it stress, anger, happiness, celebration, anxiety, is music! And adding pleasure to our leisure, RHA recently launched a well-crafted pair of in-ear headphones.

The RHA T10i are uniquely designed with stainless steel earbuds and a multicore oxygen free copper cable with mouldable ear hook. The headphones come bundled with 10 sets of ear tips in silicone and memory foam for effective noise isolation, and two pairs of changeable tuning filters. A leather-like zip-up pouch also comes along with it.

The earphones sport a 3-button remote with 360-degree mic for call and track control, which however, is only compatible with Apple products.

The three tuning filters that come along with the headphones have different usage and performance output. The reference filter (silver band) come attached to the housing and offer the most neutral of the three responses. The bass filter (black band) enhances the lower registers for genres such as hip hop, dubstep and metal. The treble filter (copper band) tips the balance in favour of the highs for jazz and acoustic listening.

The T10i offer a sterling performance with crisp and sharp audio, which makes you feel closer to music. With the three different tuning filters, the sound output varies slightly from one another. Though, regardless of which tuning filter you are using, the T10i are a bass-powerhouse. The treble is well extended, yet slightly sharp, which however, can be mitigated using a foam eartip.

However, the only potential problems with the earphones were its weight and the fit. Due to the metal used in its build, the headphones are distinctly heavier than a conventional pair of an in-ear headphone. To add to that, putting on the earphones also feels slightly uncomfortable.

Having said that, once you have put the headphones on, they fit properly and do not pop out of your ears every other minute. The mouldable ear hooks hold the ear plugs in quite well. We used these earphones while a workout, while travelling, at work, and before sleeping. We had them on almost all day, and the bass, the treble and the dynamics of the headphones have kept us happily on the groove! Priced for Rs 15,000 the RHA T10i is a good investment for both audiophiles and casual music listeners.
