‘I have seen that letter written by Anurag Thakur, will personally write to him’

ICC Chairman N Srinivasan has made it clear that he does not want to engage in war of words

New Delhi: ICC Chairman N Srinivasan has made it clear that he does not want to engage in a war of words with BCCI secretary Anurag Thakur, who has shot off a strongly-worded letter to him in response to the global body's claims about being seen with a suspected bookie.

"I have seen that letter written by Anurag (Thakur) which has been circulated to the media. He has written something in it but I feel it's not proper to respond to him through the media," Srinivasan told PTI on Monday.

Asked if he has been taken aback by the attack from Thakur, Srinivasan replied, "If I feel anything about what all Anurag has written, I will personally write a letter to him."

ICC Chief Executive Dave Richardson had written a letter to BCCI president Jagmohan Dalmiya about Thakur being photographed with one Karan Gilhotra, whose name allegedly figures in the list of suspected bookies.

Thakur in a rebuttal said that he was being attacked at Srinivasan's behest and also urged him to share the list of suspected bookies. He ended the letter by advising the Tamil Nadu strongman to share the "information" about bookies "with his family members, whose involvement in betting has been proved".
