Telugu Desam to put YSRC MLAs out

The state government will nominate a person of its choice as chairperson of these hospitals
Hyderabad: The Telugu Desam government intends to prevent YSR Congress MLAs getting on board hospital committees in the state to avoid their “nuisance”. According to directions of AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, the medical and health department has prepared a file changing the existing rules in the constitution of hospital panels and sent it for his approval. AP will issue fresh orders in a couple of days.
There are 1,175 Primary Health Centres, 193 community health centres, 30 area hospitals and 15 district-level hospitals in AP. Usually, the government appoints MLAs as chairpersons of hospital panels in their constituencies. For PHCs, community health centres and area hospitals, the local MLA is appointed the chairperson of these panels. At present, YSRC has over 60 MLAs in AP.
The government feels that if it continues the tradition of appointing local MLAs as chairpersons, YSRC MLAs may create unnecessary problems and this will become a headache. To avoid this, the government has decided to change the rules and appoint non-officials as chairpersons, according to its choice.
PHCs will have nine members, including chairpersons. Community health centres will have 11, area hospitals 13 and district hospitals 15 members, including the chairperson. The state government will nominate a person of its choice as chairperson of these hospitals. Naturally, TD and BJP leaders will get first preference.
Due to the decision of the TD government, thousands of TD and BJP leaders will get "employment". These committees will look after the development and other activities of these hospitals.
