Hyderabad: Telangana government employees have complained of discrepancies in the division of state-cadre staff between the two states by the Kamalnathan Committee.
TS employees alleged the committee had allotted AP natives to TS, though vacancies are available in the neighbouring state government. Similarly, TS natives were allotted to AP though there were vacancies in TS government departments.
TS employees have threatened “non-cooperation” with the AP government if these errors are not rectified.
The provisional allocation was made in 13 state-level departments in the Secretariat and commissionerates in Hyderabad.
TS employees are faulting the committee for considering the details mentioned in the service record of employees on nativity without verifying educational certificates to ascertain its genuineness. They alleged that the service records were tampered with in undivided AP and sought a detailed inquiry.
AP employees argue that they became TS locals as per the Presidential Order since they pursued school education in the region in undivided AP and got selected for state-level jobs based on their performance in recruitment exams conducted by then APPSC.
They cannot be treated as “non-locals” because their parents/ ancestors hail from the AP region, they argue. The committee will upload provisional allocations on its website and invite objections.
“In crucial departments like transport, excise, commercial taxes, revenue, employees with AP nativity were allotted to TS. Similarly, TS natives were allotted to AP. Sufficient vacancies are available in both governments to accommodate native employees. Injustice is meted to TS staff again in the name of options,” said M. Chandrasekhar Goud, TS Group-I Officers’ Association president.
He said they would agitate if the errors were not rectified. The association took up the issue with Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, who asked chief secretary Rajiv Sharma to consult AP to resolve the issue. He said they would agitate if the errors were not rectified.
