Jail warden’s film on tribals portrays pain of eviction

The movie was made as tribute to people who have been displaced

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Just as conspiracy theorists recently claimed that the missing Malaysian plane (MH 370) was hijacked and taken to America’s secret naval base of Diego Garcia islands in the Indian ocean, the creative mind of assistant prison officer Ajith Poojapura has woven a fictional story surrounding the Chagossian tribal people who were evicted from the island. His story has been made into a film “Abhyarthi” with many prison officials acting.

Ajith was able to see the pain of people who were evicted from their motherland to build a naval base. As the Central government was working on new land reform policies, Ajith started working to pay tribute to all evicted people.
