Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal apologises for costly gaffe

Gajendra Singh’s family, has demanded a CBI probe into the entire episode

This was, however, “rejected” by Gajendra Singh’s family, which has demanded a CBI probe into the entire episode. The CM was also attacked by political parties including the Congress and the ruling BJP, which said that such an “apology” was not enough. In addition, a full-blown war has erupted between the Delhi police and the AAP government, with city police commissioner B.S. Bassi refusing to share details with the state government, citing “legal issues”.

The Union home ministry had to step in to “resolve” the stalemate between the police and the state government. The district magistrate had on Thursday set a deadline of 11 am Friday for the police to comply with his order. The police chief said there is confidentiality in any exchange of documents between government departments, and added: “We always follow the rule of law. We are ready to work with anyone, and if the DM’s office wants to file a complaint against us, they must have some reasons.”
