Khammam: DCC president Aitam Satyam said AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi spearheading the party rally in Delhi has rejuvenated the spirit of the Congress cadres in Khammam district. Mr Satyam said Mr Rahul Gandhi had given an inspiring speech at the rally against the amendment to the Land Acquisition Act.
About 300 farmers from Khammam district took part in the rally in Delhi and opposed the amendment. "In the last five decades, I took part in many party programmes in Delhi but participation in the farmers' rally has been a new experience," he said and added they would fight on the issues of farmers in the same spirit. He said that the UPA government introduced the best Land Acquisition Act but that the NDA was trying to amend it and that it would be detrimental to the interests of farmers.
He said the Congress leaders would fight for remunerative prices to all the crops in the state.
