KM Mani must quit over graft: LDF

KOZHIKODE: As part of the statewide agitation by the Left Democratic Front (LDF) demanding resignation of finance minister K.M. Mani, its district unit protested in front of the Collectorate on Wednesday.

The protest was also to seek action against MLAs who had allegedly misbehaved with their women counterparts during the ruckus in the house on March 13.

Hundreds of LDF activists, volunteers and MLAs from around the district gathered at the Colletorate completely blocking it and stalling all traffic.

Activists raised slogans against the UDF government and demanded for the resignation of the finance minister.

Hitting out at the finance minister CPM central committee member Elamaram Kareem said, “Mani has set a negative example by not stepping down despite being accused of financial fraud.” He also said that the present government was running the state according to its whims and fancies.

Mr Elamaram said that the resignation of the finance minister was imperative. He also said that despite the UDF government's efforts the LDF would continue to agitate against budget presentation by Mr Mani.
