Pakistan Army protecting 26/11 mastermind Lakhvi, reveals report

Pakistan has always maintained that likes of Lakhvi and Hafiz Saeed are 'non-state'actors
New Delhi: In what clearly exposes Pakistan’s lies and lack of intent in tackling terrorism, it has now emerged that dreaded terrorist Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi is being protected by Pakistan Army commandos and is staying at an ISI safe house on Lahore’s outskirts. In fact, ever since his release from Adiala Jail on April 10, Lakhvi was provided with foolproof protection by the Pakistani establishment.
These details are part of a comprehensive report given by the intelligence agencies to the government on Pakistan’s security scenario since Lakhvi’s release. It is feared his release will have a direct impact on terror activities in India. The Indian agencies are monitoring the situation closely for all possible information on the LeT militant believed to be the mastermind behind the 26/11 attacks.
The report claims the Pakistan Army has deliberately deployed commandos in plain clothes to protect Lakhvi so that no one can accuse the security establishment. Pakistan has always maintained that likes of Lakhvi and Hafiz Saeed are “non-state actors”.

Pakistani police officers escort Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi, center, the main suspect of the Mumbai terror attacks in 2008, after his court appearance in Islamabad, Pakistan. A Pakistani lawyer says authorities have released Lakhvi from prison near Islamabad.

But intelligence reports clearly nail Pakistan’s lie stating that Lakhvi is under the protection of Pak Army commandos and is being kept at a safehouse, away from the public glare.
“Even in Pakistan, there is very little information regarding Lakhvi’s whereabouts ever since he has been released from the jail. But we have some reports that suggest that he is being kept at a heavily guarded safehouse of ISI on the outskirts of Lahore where both Lashkar and Jamaat-ud-Dawa have a sizeable presence,’’a top intelligence official told this newspaper.
Intelligence inputs indicate that once Lakhvi stepped out of jail he was escorted by plain clothes Army commandos. It is likely that Lakhvi has regular interaction with officials of the Pak Army.
