Giriraj Singh denies meeting PM Modi and breaking down

New Delhi: A day after minister of state Giriraj Singh was forced to express regret in Parliament over his earlier remarks against Congress president Sonia Gandhi, the minister on Tuesday denied he was summoned and pulled up by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The minister, whose controversial remarks in the past have embarrassed both the BJP and the BJP-led government, also denied
that he broke down during this reported meeting with the PM.
“The meeting had not taken place. Who told you I had met him?” Mr Singh said. To reports that he had talked to HRD minister Smriti Irani after his meeting with Mr Modi, he said he had talked to Ms Irani but asked, “How come the PM came into the scene and scolded me also?” Mr Singh was on Monday forced to express regret in the Lok Sabha for his remarks after Congress members staged protests.
