Citizen’s rally for green cover

The Green Environment Service Society organised a rally on Monday
Visakhapatnam: As part of the awareness campaign on the saving environment, the Green Environment Service Society organised a rally on Monday from Alluri Sitarama Raju statue (YMCA) to RK Beach bus stop.
The walk was aimed at creating awareness among the people for a sustainable living and conservation of natural resources on the planet. AU Vice-Chancellor Prof. G.S.N. Raju inaugurated the walk wherein students of Little Angels School, Kotak Silesian School, environment and zoology department students from Andhra University and Prism degree college students along with Green Environment Service Society president V.V. Sirisha participated.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Raju said it is the basic responsibility of every individual to protect the natural resources on this planet. The environment is changing rapidly day by day due to the selfish anthropogenic activities, which is the major reason for global climate change and it will adversely affect the life form on the planet. Everyone needs to affirm strongly on the eve of 45 th Earth Day for the protection of our planet.
K.S. Sastry, founder president of Gandhi Centre, Prof. E.U.B. Reddy from environment department of AU, Prof. C. Manjulatha from zoology department of AU participated.
