Chinese President Xi Jinping to sign $18 billion deals in Pakistan

Xi Jinping will meet his counterpart Mamnoon Hussain; hold official talks with Pak PM

Islamabad: Chinese President Xi Jinping, who will arrive in Pakistan on Monday, will raise high expectations from the host nation. Talking about his trip to Pakistan, Xi said he is feels as if he is visiting the home of his ‘own brother’. “All preparations have been completed for Chinese President Xi Jinping’s two-day state visit to Pakistan beginning on Monday,” an official said.

This would be the Chinese President’s first foreign visit this year during which he will address Joint Session of Parliament besides holding talks with country’s leadership. Reports say agreements worth $18 billion in key economic sectors are likely to be signed with China.

President Xi Jinping will meet his counterpart Mamnoon Hussain and hold official talks with Pakistan PM Nawaz Sharif. The countries will sign a number of agreements and MoUs relating to key development projects in the infrastructure, energy, and communication sectors.
