Telangana: Chief Minister KCR asks babus, cops to maintain law and order

Mr Rao asked officials to involve the public in all government activities
Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Friday directed district collectors and SPs not to compromise on maintaining law and order saying that no investor would come forward to invest if the law and order situation is not under control. Addressing the two-day collectors’ conference which began at a five-star hotel here, he asked them to observe ‘urban day’ and ‘rural day’ once every month and dedicate the full day to resolve problems being faced by people.
Mr Rao sent a clear message on the importance being given to law and order by inviting SPs for the first collectors’ conference in TS. He directed them not to tolerate sexual attacks and harassment on women and deploy ‘SHE teams’ to check this. He asked them to take up construction of separate toilets for women in all educational institutions and government offices on a war-footing and initiate stringent action against employees harassing women staff in offices or through phones.
Mr Rao asked officials to involve the public in all government activities so that they don’t feel “isolated”. “There is a general feeling among the public that they need to fight the government to get their work done. This has to change,” he said. The CM said the government has successfully overcome the power shortage problem this summer with meticulous planning and announced that there would be no power cuts in Telangana from now.
