Andhra Pradesh rejects Telangana State service extension

It was necessary that state-level institutions be jointly managed by both governments
Hyderabad: Stating that it was necessary that state-level institutions listed in the 10th schedule of AP Reorganisation Act be jointly managed by both the governments so that the two states have fair access, the AP government has rejected a proposal by the TS government seeking extension of services of some of the institutions.
AP chief secretary I.Y.R. Krishna Rao sent a letter to his Telangana counterpart, asking TS to reconsider its stand on these institutions to arrive at an amicable solution between the two governments. The AP government has accused the TS government of having taken over some of these institutions unilaterally.
Mr Krishna Rao, in his letter, said that as per provisions of AP Reorganisation Act, institutions listed in the 10th schedule should be divided between the two successor states. He said that it was necessary that these institutions should be jointly managed so that both the states will have fair access to their services.
