AAP begins disciplinary proceedings against rebels Yadav, Bhushan

The duo claimed that party's senior leaders got dictatorial and started imposing rigid orders

New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Thursday initiated disciplinary proceedings against its dissident members Yogendra Yadav and Prashant Bhushan.

"The PAC has reached the conclusion that a gross indiscipline has been committed by the individuals. This has been forwarded to the National Disciplinary Committee, and now they will start the process," AAP leader Ashutosh told ANI.

"The individuals will be given enough time to put up their points of view. After that the committee will convene to go through their reactions and will decide if their replies are satisfactory or not. If they are not then disciplinary action will follow," he added.

The disciplinary notice is likely to be served to Yadav and Bhushan by Thursday or Friday.

"The party is keeping an eye on everybody who was present there and is observing their behaviour and conduct. Action may follow later," said Ashutosh.

Ashutosh further slammed the duo's 'Swaraj Samwad' as a façade and accused them of trying to break the party to form a new one.

"This is a façade. They want to break the party and form a new party. No party tolerates people being in one party and having a referendum about forming a new party. This is gross indiscipline," he said.

Bhushan and Yadav had earlier this week held a 'Swaraj Samwad ' meeting in the national capital. During the meeting, the duo, along with Shanti Bhushan, attacked the AAP leadership for not fulfilling promises, which it made earlier as a new political outfit.

They claimed that the party's senior leaders got dictatorial and started imposing rigid orders on people who do not share their opinion.

The members also said that they want to form an organization, which is transparent and completely works on the basis of 'Swaraj' and added that announcing a new political party would again face the same challenges which AAP is facing today.
